DON’T SWEAT IT! YOU’L BE RIDING AGAIN IN NO TIME
fast and affordable flat tire repair
Tube change: $20 per tire + parts
The most economical option here is just to replace the tube, if you don’t plan on riding much during your visit or are just passing through a tube change is the fastest way to fix a flat and get you back on the road.
slime: $20 per tire
The next best option as far as price is concerned. Slime helps to plug up small holes that might happen while you’re riding. Sliming a tube is a fantastic way to protect yourself short term from the likes of puncture vine and other various cactus species that are found locally. Slime is a pro-active measure and must be added to a fresh tube in order to perform at its best. We do not recommend using slime products in tubes that have been patched previously.
puncture resistant tires: starting at $65 per tire
A great set it and forget it option. Just plop a new tire on that has built in protection from all sorts of pokes, cuts and otherwise ride ending issues. These tires come with varying thicknesses of protection to suit a variety of budgets. Their only drawback is that they are heavier than a normal tire and can make the ride quality a bit firmer.
tannus armour: starting at $110 installed per tire (includes new tubes)
This is our favourite option for the area, whether you are just passing through or live here full time Tannus armour is an incredible asset for any rider. With a liner that raps completely around the tube protecting it on all sides and widening to 3 / 4 of an inch of protection in the thickest area, Tannus armour is sure fire way to make flats a rare occurrence. And the best part? Even if you still happen to flatten the tube, the liner takes up the slack and allows you to ride home without damaging your tire or rim.
tubeless tires: Starting at $145 per tire
The be all end all for cactus and puncture vine flats. We completely remove the tubes from the bike and opt instead for a special set of, valves, tires, and sealants that will self-heal any holes that you might put in them. Our sealants can heal a variety of sized holes up to 1 / 8th of an inch without any extra material added, and substantially larger holes if you carry around a plug kit. This is the most expensive option and does require some user maintenance to ensure that it keeps working year-round but is by far the best solution when it comes to reducing punctures.
